With a full division, having a pair of destroyers is actually quite useful for protecting the convoy against the enemy destroyers. In Raptor Rescue, I’ve had more luck going for the first carrier with Dallas over Budyonny because of the combination fighter and DFAA without having to give up hydro if it’s needed, but Budyonny’s longer range and flatter arcs make it a lot easier to get fire on the rest of the ships on your way back. Destroyers could be a little more useful here than something like Aegis or Narai to help with the reinforcement waves. Huanghe also seems to do well in this particular op for some reason, and the lack of HE on Leander isn’t as problematic as the other t6 ops. Cruisers with a heal are also nice but not as necessary as some of the others.įor Killer Whale, most of the ships are the same but I’ve seen more German battleships and fewer Izmails. Warspite and Bayern are popular choices, as would Izmail once you get a higher level captain, but I felt the turret positions and slow traverse definitely limited your effectiveness at times. And of course cruisers and battleships have a higher carry potential in a lot of them which you may need with random teams.įor Aegis, I’ve typically used or seen a lot of light cruisers and faster battleships. If you’re running a full or farming division for an op, having a destroyer (or even maybe two depending on the op and division size) is good, but bringing a destroyer into pub teams is always risky because MM might give your team too many destroyers. The only exception to that being I really enjoyed Yorck in Narai until I started playing Helena a lot in it. Leander was good for a lot of them because of the heal, but the lack of HE did hurt its effectiveness at times. I’ve played battleships in most of them and slower firing cruisers in some, but overall I tend to want faster firing over harder hitting. I tend to prefer faster firing cruisers in most ops, so typically Dallas (or t6 Cleveland) and Busyonny for most of the t6 ops, and Shchors/Helena for Narai.
